October 26, 2001hey, richard! thanks for the snorland hook-up! i loved blogvoices, but let's face it, it blew. everyone else, you can check out richard's site here. the last time i cruised oregon, i hopped into a car, surprising an ex who was performing shakespeare for a local festival. romantic, you say? yes...until she told me she'd fallen for the leading man and we were summarily "on a break." d'oh!posted by Fender Bender at 2:20 PM re lan's post: not all boys are the same. some are just opportunistic S.O.B.'s. (like me, f'r instance) ;)
October 25, 2001i just burned 35 minutes watching gap ads on adcritic.com. i'm not really a gap-type consumer, but their commercials! they're so beautiful, i can't help myself. in particular, i'm all about Khakis Groove and the Daft Punk/Juliette Lewis ad. it was digital love this whole time! rrrgh! but anyway, that pretty much sums up my thursday night. what happened on Friends?in other obsessive news, i've developed a fascination with photographing tall buildings and BART trains entering and exiting tunnels. the freudian implications are obvious, but what else could it mean? posted by Fender Bender at 10:03 PM what's a lie? a lie is not the truth. so is this website a lie? not exactly. everything posted is true, just not necessarily the whole truth. before Tripod, i published this zine called YOB (hence "scottyob"). it tended to be a typical mass of angst and sadness and melodrama, but the dialouge was ultimately one-sided. there weren't mailto:'s or comment cgi's, and unless someone was utterly compelled to write me a letter i really had no clue who bought or read my zine. that unidirectional situation led to mostly uninhibited pieces, sometimes pulled from my diary verbatim. that was right for me at the time, but it's just not something i'm comfortable with here.
October 24, 2001i just realized no matter how much poking, prodding, or cajoling, my brain (aka stumpy) refuses to emit anything remotely witty. things go in waves, i suppose. my ebb and flow's just not ebbing and flowing. gimme a day or so and things should clear up.in the meantime, I NEED A SCANNER GODDAMMIT. okay, i don't need one, but it would come in really handy right now. i'm sitting on five roll's worth of prints going, "duh, they's purty...now what?" now what, indeed... posted by Fender Bender at 4:26 PM
